Packet tracing is one of the diagnostic tests that R & T can use to help isolate a network problem. Packet probes are used to determine whether a problem exists between a
specific source and destination IP address, and can help determine whether a problem is caused by hardware or software. See the section on testing for more information on network diagnostics.
