If the length of history in servicing this market is one method of judgment then I offer to you the fact that we are the oldest continuous operating
contractor experienced in data communications and computer wiring systems in Northern Alberta. Evidence of this is our successful operation since 1959
and in the Whyte Avenue area since 1968.
From the IBM co-ax cabling system that we installed in Imperial Oil's office building on 109th Street in 1965, today, we have experienced a wide variety
of systems and technologies from almost all vendors at many sites throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and the Northwest Territories. As you probably
know, the technologies used over the years have constantly evolved.
Our technicians' skills, tools, testing equipment and procedures have kept pace with this evolution. Our test equipment ranges from single/multi-mode fiber
optic OTDR's. (optical time domain reflectometer) and fusion splicers, to full dual wave 100 BaseT (tsb 67 test procedures) OTDR's. Our reputation in
this industry is well respected.
R & T has chosen to maintain its commitment to this industry by its efforts to remain current through education. Various aspects relating to this technology
are studied and learned from a variety of sources such as trade shows, magazines, vendor specific training, industry independent educational seminars and
in-house training.
Our membership, as a corporate member of BICSI is further evidence of our recognition within the field. BICSI is a non-profit, world-wide association serving
the needs of the telecommunications and building industry since 1974. Membership in this organization shows a commitment to safety and professionalism in the
design and implementation of low voltage data distribution systems.
Outside validation of this claim, to being recognized and established is our relationship with Digital/Compaq Canada, Cabletron System and Exide Corporation.
In Digital/Compaq's example, they approached us to act as one of their field installation contractors back in 1987. We have successfully carried out all types
of systems installations for them ever since.
In 1993 we became a GOLD authorized network Value Added Reseller, which enables us to sell, service, install and warranty Digital/Compaq's industry leading
network products. This type of relationship is reserved to those organizations that show evidence of long-term commitments to education, technical training,
service, and management.
In 1998, we became authorized for Compaq Canada and Cabletron Systems due to the evolution of the computer industry acquisition.
Also in 1998, we became a fully authorized solution provider for Intel®.
